What the API Platform opens to others

Below is what the platform genuinely cannot do yet, item by item, so you do not spend time on a known gap.

This page gets shorter as capabilities land.

1. Provider onboarding waits on a human review

Today: anyone with a ZaunEkko Account can create a provider, and submit a connection and a listing. That step needs no extra authorisation. What follows it is a human review.

What that means for you: nobody is turned away at the door, but there is no committed turnaround time.

The technical half is yours to settle: once a connection is submitted you can run the contract conformance check whenever you like, see every item, and re-run it as often as you need, without waiting on anyone. Getting all nine green before you submit saves most of the round trips.

The review never passes automatically, and a fully green check does not skip it — whether a listing belongs in the catalog is a business judgement, not a technical question.

See Becoming a provider and Implementing your service.

2. Points cannot be topped up or withdrawn

You cannot buy points with money, and you cannot convert points back into money.

This does not limit what points are for: with points you can call anything in the catalog, at the price shown there — what you see is what it costs. Points earned by providing a service can be spent calling someone else's.

3. The conformance check does not cover the whole contract

Today: the conformance check verifies envelope shape, idempotency semantics and credential enforcement. Retry, timeout and oversized-result paths cannot be triggered from outside, so they are not covered.

What that means for you: nine green items do not mean those paths are correct. They are part of the contract all the same, and remain yours to guarantee — the requirements are in Implementing your service.

For what the platform can do today, start from the Service catalog; how to call it is in Authentication and calling.
